Events > 2016 > January > Introduction to The Wheel of the Year

About this event:

Created by Jean

Diana_PaarThe Wheel of the Year is an annual cycle of seasonal festivals, observed by many modern Pagans. It consists of eight festivals: including the solstices and equinoxes, known as the “quarter days”, or the four midpoints between, known as the “cross quarter days”.  Observing the cycle of the seasons has been important to many people, both ancient and modern.

Join Diana Paar as she introduces the Wheel of the Year and explains a number of milestones that will be reached. Each turn is a time for gathering together with friends and family, working on personal spiritual development, and some feasting and merrymaking! Diana has led several spiritual ceremonies at Journeys and will offer a year long opportunity to come together and experience the eights festivals.  While it is not necessary to attend all eight you will discover a rhythm offered yearly to celebrate the season and grow with like minded people.

Diana’s personal path has taken her to mostly earth-based religions, yet she is deeply influenced by aspects of Buddhism, Hinduism and non-affiliated Spirituality.  Her spiritual practice continues with honoring the Ancestors, Nature Spirits and Shining Ones – primarily focused on the power of our land and our blessed rivers.

Call 412-681-8755 to be sure to have a spot for this event and those to follow.  Diana’s ceremonies fill quickly.  Tonight is a free event to learn about the 8 ceremonies that Diana will lead in 2016.
